Anthony "Tony" James Galindo

Anthony "Tony" James Galindo, 78, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Arrangements are under the care of Fullerton Funeral Home and Crematory. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St. SE, Mason City, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Following the celebration, family and friends are invited to continue honoring Tony's life at Willow Run Lounge, 2821 4th St. SW, Mason City, where stories, laughter, and memories will be shared. Tony was born on September 29, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa, to Carlos and Nordyce (Olson) Galindo. The fourth of ten children, he grew up surrounded by family and graduated from Mason City High School in 1966. He went on to become a highly respected electrician, eventually taking over his father's business, Galindo Electric, in 1977. Tony took great pride in his work and never truly retired, continuing to help friends, family, and customers with electrical projects until the very end. If it had wheels or an engine, Tony loved it. He spent countless hours racing cars and motorcycles at Humboldt County Dragway, rebuilding motorcycles, and restoring classic vehicles. His prized possession was his beloved Corvette, a car that reflected his lifelong appreciation for speed, craftsmanship, and horsepower. Tony was also an avid sports fan who faithfully cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Minnesota Twins. He looked forward to deer hunting each fall, whether during bow or shotgun season, and enjoyed the camaraderie that came with time spent outdoors. Those who knew Tony knew he could be stubborn and a little gruff at times, but beneath that tough exterior was a generous heart. If someone needed a hand, Tony was often one of the first to show up, never hesitating to lend his time, his talents, or his tools. He appreciated life's simple pleasures—good company, a good story, and an ice-cold Busch Light. More than anything, Tony loved his family. He leaves behind his daughter, Carrie Galindo; grandchildren, Jason (Talitha) Green and Nick Galindo; great-grandchildren, Taryn, Nova, Caleb, Rayla, and Kian; siblings, DeAnna (Warren) Miller, Joseph (DeDe) Galindo, Morris (Mary Lou) Galindo, Rita (Tor) Bratteng, Jean (Mike) Rourk, and John (Inge) Galindo; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog and constant companion, Skeeter. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Nordyce Galindo; his infant daughter, Tina Galindo; his sons, Aaron Galindo and Troy Harringa; his brothers, Brian Galindo and Charlie Galindo; his sister, Rosie Tigges; and his nephew, David Galindo. Tony will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of family, his passion for racing and classic cars, and the many friendships he built throughout his life. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
