Kenneth "Ken" Ray Beznoska

Kenneth "Ken" Ray Beznoska, 76, of Mason City, died on Monday, April 20, 2020 at his home. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time. A private burial will take place at a later date. In expression of sympathy, memorials or cards may be mailed to his wife: Jan Beznoska, 777 South Eisenhower Avenue Lot #11, Mason City, IA 50401. Ken was born to Raymond and Zelma Boznoska on October 30, 1943 in Omaha, NE. He graduated high school from North Bend, NE in 1962. Ken was a member of the United Methodist Church in North Bend. Ken worked in CF Industries in Freemont, NE until they closed. He then went on to work for Omaha Public Power District in Nebraska City, NE until he retired in 2008. From his first marriage, his children Leah and Frank were born. Ken remarried in 1988 to Janice “Jan” Schafer and became a stepfather to: Scott, Julie and Billie Jo. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, car shows and golfing. In his later years he became involved in making beautiful wood working and spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Jan Beznoska; children: Leah (Phil) Splichal, Frank (Moria) Beznoska, Scott (Robin) Shafer, Julie (Craig) Begemann and Billie Jo (Rick) Palmer; grandchildren: Joshua, Nicholas, Zachary, Kelsey and Jaydon Beznoska, Jennifer Reinke and special friend Steve, Jessica (Andy) Jeffrey, Lindsey (Brian) Mullenbach, Lauren (Caleb) Lundberg, Emily (Chris) Deetz and Eric Palmer and special friend Genesis; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws and one great-grandchild.
